[FC-discuss] Decentralized social networking

I personally think that BuddyPress <http://buddypress.org/>, a social
networking modification to Wordpress MU, has a lot of potential, and I
think that if they add in federation / cross-site communication like
Identica/Laconica it could be a good Facebook replacement.

I think we should install it on FreeCulture.org's chapter webspace,
once we make the transition from Lyceum to Wordpress MU.  It might be
a better solution for making profiles for our activists than our
Mediawiki.
