http://www.ocwconsortium.org/share/toolkit.html has a BUNCH of really
helpful stuff. they even have powerpoint presentations prepared for
making the case to different levels of administration.
But one thing I haven't found yet is a concise document explaining fair
use and creative commons to professors who use google image search to
get images for their powerpoints. Beyond clearing lectures to be
published online as part of OCW, freeing professors' lectures of
copyright-infringing material (and squeezing in some free culture ideals
as well) seems to be a good idea in general.
these profs need something short and direct.
"get your images from a flickr cc search or wikimedia commons. not
google images. here are the links, and here (briefly) is why it
matters. also, here is how to openly license and publish images of your
own."
so let's do this!

also, once we get something together, we should hand it back to OCWC so
they can package it with their toolkit. In fact, we should be
communicating with the OCWC if we're not already. I've been emailing
Mike Caulfield of OCWC and so far he's really enthusiastic and helpful.
he even offered to drive to campus and chat about the logistics of
implementing OCW.
