I'm writing you to let know about a recent story that involves a
colleague who is a friend of mine, DRM, and free speech. Sounds familiar, no?
Inga Chernyak, current president of Free Culture @ NYU was recently fired from
her legal clerk job for expressing her opinions about DRM in a recent article
in the Village Voice. It seems as if her employer found her opinions in
conflict with what the firm did and who they represented. So after reading her
the VV article in the HR department, they fired her. There's a lot to talk
about in this story, so we have a blog entry with Inga's side of it (I'm just
